Engr. Faruk Usman is currently the Managing Director of the Nigerian Gas Marketing Company Limited (NGMC), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). He holds M.Sc in Engineering Management from the University of Benin and PGD in Mechanical Engineering from Bayero University Kano. He also has the certifications from prestigious Project Management Professionals (PMP), USA and International General Certificate (IGC) in Occupational Health and Safety–NEBOSH, UK.
He has put in over 30 years of practice in the Oil and Gas industry which cut across Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG), Refinery & Petrol Chemicals, Gas infrastructures development and Gas Marketing & Distribution and has contributed immensely to the development of the Nigeria oil and gas industry and NNPC in particular. Prior to his current position, hupe served as the Executive Director Asset Management and Technical Services of the Nigerian Gas Marketing Company Limited where he was responsible for managing the development of gas delivery infrastructures and managing its Operations & Maintenance for gas supply to customers to increase domestic gas utilization in the country
Engr. Faruk Usman is also a certified member of many professional bodies among which include Council of Regulation of Engineers in Nigeria (COREN), American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), Pipeline Professionals Association of Nigeria (PLAN),Institute of Leadership and Management London (ILM).
He is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Production Engineering (NiProdE), and Fellow of Institute of Quality Association of Nigeria (IQAN), Lead Auditor for Quality Management Systems and Lead Auditor for Environmental Management Systems. In recognition of his contribution to National Development in the field of Engineering and his exemplary leadership and accomplishments, Nigerian Society of Engineers elected him as a distinguished Fellow and also,the European American University Commonwealth of Dominica conferred on him anHonorary Doctorate Degree of Humane Letters (Hon.D.HL) HonorisCausa with all its rights and privileges.
A widely travelled and experienced Engineer, Mr.
Usman has attended several conferences, seminars and training, prominent among which include: Petroleum Projects Economics and Risk Analysis in USA, Leadership and Management Masterclass in UK &USA, Inspection and Reliability Maintenance inIndia, High Impact Business Communication in Dubai and amongst others.
Due to his resilient spirit, Engr. Usman has consistently distinguished himself inthe several leadership positions he occupies, some of which include;Advisor, International Rescue Committee (IRC),
